2013 Round up
Happy Christmas everyone! As 2013 draws to a close I am now reflecting on the year behind and evaluating what I have achieved over the past 12 months and what a year it has been!
One of my aims this year was to expand my portfolio of products that my surface pattern designs can be found on in terms of working for others on a freelance basis. As I have worked on interiors, stationery and fashion before, something I wanted to tick off my list for this year was to produce surface patterns for beauty product packaging and amazingly the perfect brief landed on my desk! This was one of my favourite projects this year and is just launching so I can share it with you all. The brief was to include all the natural ingredients of the product in to a one colour print to be applied to the packaging and the promotional materials of the brand, you can see more at http://iambn.com/
Licensing wise my very first licensee ‘Artistic Britain’ has actually been the most successful this year, selling my wall art and tableware in to independent shops and large retailers. Thank you to all my licensees for growing the Laura Olivia brand, I will continue to work with you on new designs next year and hopefully we will see continued success.
In terms of new work my most recent pieces are these below which I am holding on to for licensing so if anyone is interested let me know.
The year ahead looks promising as I am now working for a kitchen textiles manufacturer on designs for tea towels, aprons, oven gloves etc who supply to large retailers in the UK and USA . This is a great company to work for and the ongoing work I have received over the last few months has been fantastic. I am also in discussion with a rug company who are interested in quite a number of designs so I’m very excited to see how that will develop.
Thank you to all my clients who I have worked with this year and previously, as you are allowing me to continue to do what I love to pieces. I’d also like to thank all my followers and supporters, as there is nothing better than receiving a kind email about my work to keep away the self employment blues on a rainy day!. If you would like to follow me you can do so on my Facebook page.
Merry Christmas to you all! Enjoy xx
